The Rockets won another away game against the Suns Thursday in Phoenix. The win comes a day after the team won in Portland against a Blazer team that is very good at home. The game against the Suns Thursday ended 96-89 in favor of Houston. The win brings the Rockets to 16-11 this year and improves their away record to 6-8. The Suns, on the other hand, fall to 11-15 overall this season and are just 5-7 in home games. the Rockets won thanks to a big first half effort. They then had enough in the second half to squeeze by.
The Rockets were led by Luis Scola who scored 16. Dragic led the team in assists with 11 as well to help all scorers. The team had 54 points in the first half as they scored over 25 points a piece in the first and second quarter. The team did not have as much luck in the 2nd half where they scored under 25 in each quarter and just 42 overall 2nd half points. The win brings the Rockets just 2 games back of the first place San Antonio Spurs in the division.
The Suns were led by Channing Fry who scored 21 points in the game and added 10 rebounds. Both of these led the squad. Steve Nash led the team in assists with 13. The offense had periods of greatness scoring 61 points between the first and third quarter. However, they scored just 28 combined points in the rest of the game. The team is now in 3rd place because of the loss and are 5.5 games back of the LA Clippers.
