Houston beat the Bengals convincingly Saturday 31-10 in Houston. The Texans used Arien Foster primarily to get past a Bengals defense who ,until Saturday, were effective on defense. Foster had 153 yards and 2 touchdowns in the game and kept the Bengals offense off the field for most of the second half. In fact, the Bengals went scoreless after the first half. The Texans, who lost their previous 3 games, relied little on the pass. In the game rookie TJ Yates was just 11-20 for 159 yards and a touchdown to a healthy Andre Johnson.
The Bengals Defense could not stop a nosebleed on Saturday and was giving up double digit runs to Foster time and time again. Tackling was horrible for the team who won many of their games this year due to their defense. Foster was slipping through multiple hits and was making things look effortless. In all, the Bengals game up 340 yards, 188 of which were on the ground. In all, the Texans rushed 35 times controlling the clock and line of scrimmage throughout.
The Bengals rushing game was the opposite on the day. Their leading rusher had just 34 yards and the team totaled 76 rushing yards on the day. They tried to rely on the passing game totaling 42 passes on the game. Just 27 of those were completed and Andy Dalton had 257 yards in the game and 0 touchdowns. Dalton's most crucial completion actually was an interception by a Texans lineman who took it in for a touchdown. The play was an amazing feat of athleticism and was a huge turning point in the game. Dalton remained a bit on edge after the play and showed that he could be effected emotionally, which some thought was impossible.
